Scarecrow's (Justin Case) mask from the production of Walter Murch's Return to Oz. The Scarecrow, Dorothy Gale's (Fairuza Balk) friend and then-king of Oz, was held prisoner by the Nome King (Nicol Williamson) before Dorothy rescued him.

Due to budget constraints, instead of creating a single animatronic mask, multiple masks were created, each with a unique static expression. This mask featuring a surprised face was ultimately unseen in the final cut.

The mask originates from Elstree Studios prop dealer Nick Harrison. Made of foam latex, it is painted brown and textured to resemble burlap with a faded green logo on the back, orange stitching, a red nose, and an open mouth and eye holes. The mask comes mounted to a black cloth-covered mannequin head for display. The now-fragile latex exhibits drying and cracking from age, with tearing and sections crumbling off, and should be handled with care.
