The Sacred Lakota Lance featured in Jack Sholder's 1989 action drama, Renegades. In the film undercover cop Buster McHenry (Kiefer Sutherland) teams up with Lakota Sioux, Hank Storm (Lou Diamond Phillips) to track down a dangerous criminal and a stolen artifact. This spear is featured throughout the film and is first seen during the opening shot which establishes the lance as a sacred relic of the Lakota Indians.
This lance features a large spearhead attached to a wooden handle with a burnt end. The spear has been decorated with strips of leather, braided leather, beads, and a bird feather. Although this piece features minor wear from production use and age, it remains in remarkably good condition.
