Although one of Hitchcock's most successful early releases (he was nominated for Best Director), "Rear Window" was re-released in 1962 to capitalise on the success of "Psycho". The Studio (Paramount) added a large image of Hitchcock to the top of the posters with the tagline "See it ! - If your nerves can stand it after PSYCHO!". It's interesting to note that in the credits, Raymond Burr is referred to as "TV's Perry Mason", between Rear Window's first release in 1954 and 1962, Burr went from being a minor character actor to a major TV star in a number one rated show. Also, note that Grace Kelly is called "The Princess - in her most striking performance!" after her marriage to Monaco's Prince Rainier in 1956. (Provenance: The Personal Collection of Bryan Fuller)
