Framed artwork for a title card from the production of Mervyn LeRoy's Quo Vadis. As was standard with many studio pictures of the era, the biblical epic opened and closed with cards featuring the film's title.

Hailed as one of the biggest event films of its era, Quo Vadis received eight Academy Award® nominations upon release and was credited with reviving storied studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) from flagging fortunes. Its opening credits sequence was created by famed Hollywood title design studio Pacific Title & Art.

This painting depicting the film's title set against a backdrop painted to resemble ancient stone was created by Pacific Title, though its specific use remains unknown, as the studio also created original artwork for such related projects as trailers, theatrical releases in foreign language markets, and televised releases of various films. It is rendered in mixed media on glass and comes mounted inside a custom wood-backed frame. The paint exhibits cracking throughout from age, while the frame exhibits nicks along its bottom edge.
