An embroidered kimono previously owned by revered Queen frontman Freddie Mercury. Mercury had a great love for Japanese culture, collecting objects and clothing on his many visits to the country while touring. This item originally came from Freddie Mercury's personal collection, which was auctioned in 2023.

The three-quarter length kimono is made from black satin and is decorated with two hand-embroidered "Queen" logos in gold and silver-coloured threads on the front. The back features additional embroidered decoration comprising adapted Chinese characters and a cherry blossom pattern that features beads sewn into the centre of multiple flowers. The kimono is unlined and does not contain any labels. It was likely made in China but made to look Japanese. The lot is accompanied by a tag from the original auction. The garment exhibits light fraying down on one of the inside seams.
