The diner waitress's (Laura Lovelace) costume from Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction. The diner waitress wore her ensemble as she served Pumpkin (Tim Roth) and Honey Bunny (Amanda Plummer) before they carried out their new plan of robbing the restaurant.
Pulp Fiction was the top-grossing film at the US box office during its first weekend and became the tenth-highest grossing film of 1994, despite playing at significantly fewer theaters than any other film in the top 20. It was named Best Picture by more than seven prominent film critic associations, won the Palme d'Or® at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival, and was nominated for seven Academy Awards®, including a win for Tarantino and Roger Avary's original screenplay. Considered by many to be Tarantino's magnum opus, Pulp Fiction was selected in 2013 for preservation in the US National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
This lot consists of a polyester and cotton White Swan waitress dress (size 10) and a polyester and cotton apron. Also included is a production wardrobe tag hand-marked for "Waitress" and scene number "1. 91-93" with additional annotations regarding the costume, including "Pink dress" and "Personal jewelry." The dress shows evidence of minor wear consistent with on-set use, while the tag shows evidence of handling and age.
