A crew chair used in the production of the Ridley Scott prequel Prometheus. Led to a distant planet by ancient wall paintings, scientists Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and Charlie Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green) join a corporate-sponsored mission to discover the source of life on Earth. But in the ruins of an alien space craft, the human explorers soon find that all is not as it seems, and a great threat lurks in its deep holds.
This chair was one of the seats the formed part of the elaborate Prometheus’ bridge set, used by members of the crew throughout the film until the ship’s ultimate fate in the skies above LV-223. The markings on this particular chair, notably the numbering down the side and the placement of caution stickers on the side and headrest, make it a good match for the one used by Charlie Holloway during the scene in which the ship makes its descent to the alien planet.

The seat’s body is made of fibreglass with foam-filled pads cushions added in the seat, back and headrest. A chunky four-way buckle, attached to the seat by lengths of silver nylon webbing, allows the user to be properly fastened in during the seat’s use, as seen during the LV-223 atmospheric entry sequence. The seat is finished in grey with yellow and black decals attached on either side. The cushions are wrapped in dark green synthetic material.

Featuring some wear from use, the chair has some damage to the fibreglass body, most notably on the headrest. However, in spite of this wear, the chair remains in overall very good condition.
