A pair of Engineer ampules from Ridley Scott's sci-fi prequel Prometheus. Engineers used ampules to store terraforming biochemicals, which were unstable at room temperature. The Prometheus crew found cavernous rooms filled with ampules.
Designed by raku pottery specialist Rob Sollis, this set is made of hard biscuit foam with a resin skin. The lot consists of two different sized ampules, each with alien text vertically etched into its curving body and finished with metallic paint. Both ampules are intentionally distressed to reflect their ancient heritage. They show signs of wear from production use and storage, including scuffs, scratches and a chip on one side of the larger ampule's lid section, and there is something loose within the smaller ampule. Dimensions (largest ampule): 21 cm x 21 cm x 55 cm (8¼" x 8¼" x 21½")
Estimate: £1,000 - 1,500 †Δ
