A light-up escape pod from Ridley Scott’s Prometheus. Meredith Vickers (Charlize Theron) escaped the Prometheus in a pod before Captain Janek (Idris Elba) rammed it into the Engineer’s ship. Several escape pods were present in the bay as Vickers changed into her spacesuit and strapped into her pod.
Made of fiberglass over an MDF frame, the pod features a detachable top panel with a clear plastic viewport and a cushioned vinyl fabric interior. The exterior of the pod features buttons and detailing through out with the code number "EP-05." The pod houses electronics, including a series of lights, control panels, and computer consoles, that are powered by a cord when plugged in. Following production, the pod underwent sympathetic repairs to return functionality to its electronics. This lot shows scuffing and chipping throughout, in addition to wear consistent with on-set use, handling, and age. Dimensions: 96.5" x 49.25" x 23.75" (245 cm x 125 cm x 60 cm)
