David's (Michael Fassbender) light up table from the production of the Ridley Scott’s sci-fi mystery Prometheus (2012) starring Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender. This desk can be seen towards the beginning of the film when David (Fassbender) is responsible for the ship while the crew are in hypersleep. During this segment we see him lift up the desk’s lid for which he looks into its light up mirror and combs his hair. He also uses it when he is dying his hair whilst watching Lawrence of Arabia.
The desk is constructed of white and brown coloured steel which has a curved rectangular top. Its lid is hydraulically assisted and when opened up reveals an acrylic mirror inside. This is lined with small clear lights above and below which light up when turned on. The desk legs are constructed of black steel which are of a curved triangular shape. This highly recognisable item measures approximately 83cm x 80cm x 57cm (32.75” x 31.5” x 22.5”) and when open measures 123cm (48.5”) tall. There are some slight scratches to the surface of the piece due to movement of set however it is in overall fantastic production used condition.
