A gold disc presented to Matt Fink to commemorate the sale of more than 1,000,000 copies of Prince's 1979 single "I Wanna Be Your Lover". The song was Prince's first hit single and was released as the lead track for his self-titled album. This lot comes from the personal collection of Matt Fink (known by his stage name Dr. Fink). Displayed within a gold-painted wooden frame and mounted under acrylic, the award features a 7-inch gold-coloured disc and a metal plaque stating it is a certified R.I.A.A (Recording Industry Association of America) sales award. A metal hanging bracket is attached to the back. There are some small marks on the acrylic and a minor tear in the paper backing. This lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity co-signed by Dr Fink. Dimensions: 43.5 cm x 33.25 cm x 3 cm (17" x 13" x 1.25")

Additional Provenance: This lot comes from the personal collection of Grammy-Award-winning keyboardist and producer Matt Fink (known by his stage name Dr. Fink). Fink was a member of Prince's band from 1978 to 1991, notably playing as part of The Revolution, who also starred in the 1984 film Purple Rain.
