A gold disc presented to Matt Fink to commemorate the sale of more than 500,000 copies of Prince's fourth studio album Controversy, released in October 1981. This lot comes from the personal collection of Matt Fink (known by his stage name Dr. Fink). The large gold-coloured disc comes mounted under acrylic in a painted gold-coloured wooden frame. Below the disc is a metal plaque which states that it is a certified R.I.A.A (Recording Industry Association of America) sales award and features a printed image of the album cover. A metal hanging bracket is fitted to the back and some of the gold paint finish has chipped away on the sides of the frame. This lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity co-signed by Dr Fink. Dimensions: 53 cm x 43 cm x 3 cm (20.75" x 17" x 1.25")

Additional Provenance: This lot comes from the personal collection of Grammy-Award-winning keyboardist and producer Matt Fink (known by his stage name Dr. Fink). Fink was a member of Prince's band from 1978 to 1991, notably playing as part of The Revolution, who also starred in the 1984 film Purple Rain.
