A platinum double disc award presented to Matt Fink to commemorate the sale of more than 2,000,000 copies of Prince's fifth studio album 1999. This album was the first to be recorded with his band, The Revolution, and it is considered his breakthrough record. This lot comes from the personal collection of Matt Fink (known by his stage name Dr. Fink).

The award features two platinum-coloured 12-inch discs, a printed image of the album cover artwork and a metal plaque featuring a Warner Bros. Records logo. It comes mounted under acrylic and within a silver-coloured frame with a metal hanging bracket fitted to the back. The acrylic displays light scratches and marks, and there are signs of wear to the finish on the frame. This lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity co-signed by Dr Fink. Dimensions: 73 cm x 48 cm x 3 cm (28.75" x 18.75" x 1.25")

Additional Provenance: This lot comes from the personal collection of Grammy-Award-winning keyboardist and producer Matt Fink (known by his stage name Dr. Fink). Fink was a member of Prince's band from 1978 to 1991, notably playing as part of The Revolution, who also starred in the 1984 film Purple Rain.
