A platinum disc presented to Matt Fink to commemorate the sale of more than 1,000,000 copies of Prince's fifth studio album 1999. Released in October 1981, 1999 was the first album to be recorded with his band The Revolution and is often cited as one of the greatest albums of all time. This lot comes from the personal collection of Matt Fink (known by his stage name Dr. Fink). Presented in a painted silver-coloured wooden frame with acrylic, the display features a platinum-coloured disc, a printed image of the album cover artwork and a metal plaque which states that it is a certified R.I.A.A (Recording Industry Association of America) sales award. There are minor marks on the frame and a noticeable tear on the paper backing on the reverse of the display. This lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity co-signed by Dr Fink. Additional Provenance: This lot comes from the personal collection of Grammy-Award-winning keyboardist and producer Matt Fink (known by his stage name Dr. Fink). Fink was a member of Prince's band from 1978 to 1991, notably playing as part of The Revolution, who also starred in the 1984 film Purple Rain.
