A gold disc presented to Matt Fink to commemorate the sale of more than 500,000 copies of Prince and The Revolution's acclaimed album Purple Rain. The album was released as the soundtrack to the 1984 movie of the same name and is highly regarded by many, generating multiple hit singles. This lot comes from the personal collection of Matt Fink (known by his stage name Dr. Fink). The award is displayed within a gold-painted wooden frame and mounted under acrylic. It comprises a 12-inch gold-coloured disc, a printed copy of the album cover artwork and a metal plaque which states that it is a certified R.I.A.A (Recording Industry Association of America) sales award. The frame exhibits small amounts of paint wear, and a metal hanging bracket is on the back. This lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity co-signed by Dr Fink. Dimensions: 52.5 cm x 42.5 cm x 3 cm (20.75" x 16.75" x 1.25")

Additional Provenance: This lot comes from the personal collection of Grammy-Award-winning keyboardist and producer Matt Fink (known by his stage name Dr. Fink). Fink was a member of Prince's band from 1978 to 1991, notably playing as part of The Revolution, who also starred in the 1984 film Purple Rain.
