A platinum disc presented to Matt Fink to commemorate the sale of more than two million copies of Prince and the Revolution's 1984 single "When Doves Cry". A worldwide hit, "When Doves Cry" was the lead single from the album Purple Rain and stayed at number one in the US for five weeks. This lot comes from the personal collection of Matt Fink (known by his stage name Dr. Fink). The award features a platinum-coloured disc and a metal plaque, which states that it is a certified R.I.A.A (Recording Industry Association of America) sales award. A metal hanging bracket is fitted to the back, and the lot comes mounted under acrylic in a silver-coloured wooden frame. There are some light signs of wear on the frame. This lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity co-signed by Dr Fink. Dimensions: 42.5 cm x 32.5 cm x 3 cm (16.75" x 12.75" x 1.25")

Additional Provenance: This lot comes from the personal collection of Grammy-Award-winning keyboardist and producer Matt Fink (known by his stage name Dr. Fink). Fink was a member of Prince's band from 1978 to 1991, notably playing as part of The Revolution, who also starred in the 1984 film Purple Rain.
