A carbine used in the production of Burr Steers’ surreal horror-comedy Price and Prejudice and Zombies.
Raised in a 19th Century England beset by a foul plague that turns the living into the undead, Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James) and her kung fu-trained sisters deal with the trials and tribulations of English high society… and the zombie apocalypse.
This style of carbine and others like it were used by the Bennet sisters as they walked with Parson Collins (Matt Smith) in the woods, where they encountered a zombie emerging from an overturned carriage.
Made from a dense rubber, the stunt weapon has been painted to mimic a dark wood grain. The trigger, front sight and other details have been finished in silver and gold paint to replicate worked metal.
The carbine shows signs of production use, including marks on the stock and wear to the metallic painted parts. The lock on the weapon is slightly loose and displays a muddy residue from use. Despite this wear the gun remains in overall very good condition.
