A stunt iron maiden from Julius Avery's horror film The Pope's Exorcist. Father Gabriele Amorth (Russell Crowe) and Father Esquibel (Daniel Zovatto) discovered the iron maiden among other torture devices left behind by the Spanish Inquisition. During the film's climax, a demonically possessed Father Gabriele hurled Esquibel into the front of the iron maiden, knocking it to the floor.
The piece was designed by concept artist Rob Bliss, whose other notable work includes the Death Eater mask designs for the Harry Potter film series, and his work on The Dark Knight and Guardians of the Galaxy. It is constructed primarily from fibreglass with metal detailing and rubber strips, finished to resemble cast iron. The prop shows minor wear to the paintwork, including scuffing and scratches, consistent with production use. Dimensions: 55 cm x 65 cm x 210 cm (21.75" x 25.5" x 82.75")
