A stunt clown doll from Gil Kenan's Poltergeist. After moving into a new house with his family, Griffin Bowen (Kyle Catlett) discovered a box of clowns hidden in the attic closet that came falling after he pulled on the nose under the impression it was a light string. Later, he was terrorized by the doll the night his parents stepped out, and his younger sister Maddie (Kennedi Clements) walked into the black void in her closet. An homage to the clown from Tobe Hooper's 1982 Poltergeist, the redesigned clown featured prominently in promotional material for the film. Foam dolls like this were utilized during action sequences where a hard-bodied doll could have injured the performer.
This doll is made of foam with acrylic yarn hair and acrylic eyes. The head, hands, and feet are hand-painted. It comes dressed in a multicolored costume. This lot shows wear consistent with on-set use, handling, and age. Dimensions: 27.5" x 9" x 4.25" (70 cm x 23 cm x 11 cm)
