This is a very rare format for this science fiction classic. This is the Japanese Tataken or STB (two panel) and we've never seen it offered in a major auction before.

This poster shows some slight wear to the upper and lower borders. The bottom border has some airbrush work to diminish handling wear. The center point where the two panels join has had some touch-up work, as have a few spots within the main title.

Seminal sci-fi adventure with game-changing prosthetic makeup, engaging satire and a killer twist ending, which propelled Charlton Heston's astronaut Taylor into a crazy, upside-down world where talking apes ruled over dumb humans. The film launched a five-picture series that ran until 1973, before it was rejuvenated in 2011 with prequel Rise of the Planet of the Apes and its own sequels.
