A background orangutan mask from Franklin J. Schaffner's sci-fi film Planet of the Apes. After landing on a futuristic version of Earth, George Taylor (Charlton Heston) encountered super intelligent apes, including orangutans who served as political and religious leaders.

This mask is made of latex with brown-painted skin, orange hair applied throughout, and fastening strips in the rear to close it on the wearer. It exhibits some hardening to the latex and a few scuffs in the painted finish of the face.
