This group consists of two posters. The first is the film's one sheet, which has been professionally linen-backed. The restoration includes expert touch-ups to the folds to address general wear, a small tear in the upper left panel, and the removal of a small piece of cellophane tape from the panel beneath it. The borders feature sporadic airbrushing to fix pinholes, a few small chips, and minor surface paper loss in the lower right corner. The second poster is an Italian two fogli, which is folded and in excellent condition. It shows slight separation at the end of one fold and some random small creases from handling. The grade provided reflects an average of both posters.

John Chambers created pioneering makeup effects for the film, applying techniques he'd developed for WWII veterans and studying apes at the Los Angeles Zoo for realistic expressions. The project tied up top Hollywood makeup artists, with leftover materials later used for "Fugitives in Space" (1968). Chambers received an Honorary Academy Award-the second ever for a makeup artist-presented by Walter Matthau and a tuxedoed chimp.
