Prop Store is proud to present an exclusive offering of ‘The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists’ stop motion puppets, props and set pieces from Aardman and Sony Pictures Animation.

We can see Toll Booth Dave during the opening credits as he mans the kiosk – or in his case, rowing boat- in order to monitor those who sail in and out of Blood Island! His clothing is made from foam latex with silicone skin and beard. His head and hair are resin, with plasticine around his pose-able eyes. Whilst Toll Booth Dave is seated in his rowing boat, we do not see his lower body and therefore he was constructed without legs. An intricate metal armature is located within his torso to allow him to be animated throughout filming. This is a fantastic-looking puppet and remains in excellent production used condition. Toll Booth Dave has been presented securely on a bespoke display stand and measures approximately 27cm (11.75”) tall with the stand measuring approximately 13.5x12.5cm (5.25x4.75”) around the base.

In The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists, Hugh Grant stars in his first animated role as the luxuriantly bearded Pirate Captain – a boundlessly enthusiastic, if somewhat less-than-successful, terror of the High Seas. With a rag-tag crew at his side and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It's a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they do battle with the pirate-hating Queen Victoria and team up with a young Charles Darwin, but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!
