“Pity you can't eat pirate, really. But you'd probably taste of barnacles. Whereas dear little Polly here is going to be absolutely... delicious!
Three yellow ‘rare animal ingredient’ tins from Peter Lord’s 2012 3D stop-motion animated swashbuckler comedy Pirates! In an adventure with Scientists!
Accompanied by his ragtag crew, an enthusiastic pirate captain (Hugh Grant) sails the high seas and dreams of besting his bitter rivals, Black Bellamy (Jeremy Piven) and Cutlass Liz (Salma Hayek), in a quest to win the coveted title of Pirate of the Year. The captain's quest takes him and his comrades from the exotic shores of Blood Island to Victorian London's foggy streets. Along the way, they battle a clever queen (Imelda Staunton) and join forces with a young scientist named Charles Darwin (David Tennant).
This item is three yellow ‘rare animal ingredient’ tins from the kitchen of the Queen Victoria 1 ship, with the names ‘Edible Doormice’, ‘Mongoose Lips’ and ‘Eye Of Newt’. They are seen when Queen Victoria fights against Pirate Captain as he tries to save Polly, the crew’s pet dodo. These tins are hollow and each made entirely from resin that has then been hand painted. There is a small amount of dried glue on the base of each tin, which would have been applied during filming to ensure stability. There is minor wear from production use, including some scratches and scuffs, but this piece is otherwise in excellent condition.
Materials: Resin.
