Pot Bellied Pete is one of the many piratey-patrons found in the Blood Island watering hole, The Barnacles Face. He can also be seen enjoying the entertainment at the Pirate of the Year Awards, as the Pirate Captain makes his unexpected (and rather short-lived!) debut as Pirate of the Year! Pete’s shabby clothing is made from foam latex, and his head and headscarf from resin. His hair, hands and grubby feet are silicon. His removable mouthpiece is ‘Rapid Protyped resin (featuring the reference ‘Gt UHRgt-1_Ba’) and the skin surrounding his eyes and eyebrows is plasticine; these both allow for interchangeable facial expressions. This eye-catching puppet is built around an intricate internal metal armature allowing for him to be animated and positioned effectively. There is a crack in his silicone belt and he shows very slight cracking around his joints but remains overall in great production used condition. Pot Bellied Pete is presented on a bespoke display stand and measures approximately 29.5cm (11.5”) tall, with the stand measuring approximately 13.5 x 12.5cm (5.25 x 4.75”) around the base.

In an Adventure with Scientists, Hugh Grant stars in his first animated role as the luxuriantly bearded Pirate Captain – a boundlessly enthusiastic, if somewhat less-than-successful, terror of the High Seas. With a rag-tag crew at his side and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It's a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they do battle with the pirate-hating Queen Victoria and team up with a young Charles Darwin, but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!
