Prop Store is proud to present an exclusive offering of ‘The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists’ stop motion puppets, props and set pieces from Aardman and Sony Pictures Animation.

In a rather misguided attempt to steal booty from passing ships, the Pirate Captain finds himself aboard a ship full of plague-sufferers! Poor Josh can be seen wrapped in his blanket whilst fellow plague victim Dave, informs the Pirate Captain of his error! His grubby-looking outfit is made from foam latex, with silicone hands and realistic bandages on his hands and eyepatch. His head and hair are made from resin, with plasticine around his eyes and jaw to allow for his expression to be altered during filming. Colin’s body can be posed and positioned via an intricate internal steel skeleton. There are a very small number of slight indentations in the plasticine around his jaw but he otherwise remains in excellent production used condition. He is presented here on a bespoke display stand and due to the delicate nature of his very spindly legs; he is supported by a metal rod. Josh measures approximately 35.5cm (14”) in length with the stand measuring approximately 13.5x12cm (5.25x4.75”) around the base.

With a rag-tag crew at his side and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It's a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they do battle with the pirate-hating Queen Victoria and team up with a young Charles Darwin, but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!
