Prop Store is proud to present an exclusive offering of ‘The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists’ stop motion puppets, props and set pieces from Aardman and Sony Pictures Animation.

A regular patron of the pirate-friendly inn, The Barnacles Face, Gunpowder Gertie can be seen making merry at the Pirate of the Year Awards on Blood Island! Built around an intricate steel skeleton, Gertie’s clothing is made from foam latex with silicone skin and ponytail. Her hair and polka-dot headscarf are resin and she features a removable mouthpiece made from ‘Rapid Prototyped’ resin, with the reference ‘GG 15/3’ located inside of her head. There is a small amount of plasticine around her adjustable eyes, allowing for puppeteers to alter her expression. Gertie displays a tremendous amount of detail, from her ‘gold’ hoop earrings, to the flared hem on her trousers. Located on the base of each of her boots are two small metal fixtures which would have been used to ensure stability during filming. Gunpowder Gertie is a great-looking puppet and remains in excellent production used condition. She is presented on a bespoke display stand made from faux driftwood for an extra piratey-feel and measures approximately 33.5cm (13”) tall, with the stand measuring approximately 13.5x12.5cm (5.25x4.75”) around the base.
