Prop Store is proud to present an exclusive offering of ‘The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists’ stop motion puppets, props and set pieces from Aardman and Sony Pictures Animation.

Ebeneezer Good can be seen in Blood Island tavern, The Barnacles Face supplying the forms of those pirates wishing to enter the coveted Pirate of the Year Competition. Although initially put-off by the taunts of Black Bellamy over his intention to compete, it is Bellamy’s ridicule of the Pirate Captain’s beloved ‘parrot’ Polly that spurs him on to go ahead and enter and Ebeneezer here can be seen stamping his entry form! His clothing is made from foam latex with pink silicone skin and beard. His hair and head (complete with rounded gold spectacles) is resin with plasticine surrounding his eyes and eyelids. Ebeneezer Good’s body has been constructed around an intricate steel skeleton allowing for puppeteers to pose and animate him during filming. There is evidence of cracking around his joints, but he otherwise remains in good production used condition. This rather tired-looking chap is presented here on a bespoke display stand, measuring approximately 32cm (12.75”) in height with the base of the stand measuring approximately 13.5x12.5cm (5.25x4.75”) around the base.

With a rag-tag crew at his side and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It's a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they do battle with the pirate-hating Queen Victoria and team up with a young Charles Darwin, but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!
