Prop Store is proud to present an exclusive offering of ‘The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists’ stop motion puppets, props and set pieces from Aardman and Sony Pictures Animation.

Dogface Dave can be seen in ‘The Barnacles Face’ tavern on Blood Island, cheering the rather arrogant Black Bellamy as he makes his grand entrance and announces his expectations to win Pirate of the Year – much to the dismay of the Pirate Captain! His clothing and facial hair are made from foam latex, with silicone skin and boots. Dave’s head and hair and both resin, with a small amount of plasticine around his pose-able eyes and can be posed an animated via an intricate internal steel armature. There is a slight scrape on the foam latex of his trousers, but he otherwise remains in fantastic production used condition. He is presented here on a bespoke faux-driftwood display stand for an added pirate-feel and measures approximately 32cm (12.5”) in height, with the stand measuring approximately 13.5x12.5cm (5.25x4.75”) around the base. The puppet is also accompanied by two pirate tankards from the rowdy tavern!

In The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists, Hugh Grant stars in his first animated role as the luxuriantly bearded Pirate Captain – a boundlessly enthusiastic, if somewhat less-than-successful, terror of the High Seas. With a rag-tag crew at his side and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It's a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they do battle with the pirate-hating Queen Victoria and team up with a young Charles Darwin, but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!
