Prop Store is proud to present an exclusive offering of ‘The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists’ stop motion puppets, props and set pieces from Aardman and Sony Pictures Animation.

Cutthroat Kate can be seen laughing along with the other pirates in The Barnacles Face tavern on Blood Island as Black Bellamy mocks the Pirate Captain after learning of his intentions to enter the Pirate of the Year Awards; a prize the Pirate Captain has missed out on over the past 20 years! Her clothing is made from foam latex with silicone skin, hair and headscarf. Her head and large bicorn hat are resin, with a small amount of plasticine around her pose-able eyes and a detachable mouthpiece made from ‘Rapid Prototyped’ resin. Cutthroat Kate can be posed and animated via an intricate internal steel skeleton and located on the base of each of her boots are two small metal fixtures which would have been used to ensure stability during filming. There is slight evidence of cracking around her jacket but she otherwise remains in very good production used condition. She is presented on a bespoke display stand and measures approximately 29cm (11.5”) tall, with the stand measuring approximately 13.5x12.5cm (5.25x4.75”) around the base.

In an Adventure with Scientists, Hugh Grant stars in his first animated role as the luxuriantly bearded Pirate Captain – a boundlessly enthusiastic, if somewhat less-than-successful, terror of the High Seas. With a rag-tag crew at his side and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It's a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they do battle with the pirate-hating Queen Victoria and team up with a young Charles Darwin, but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!
