Held on Blood Island, The Pirate of the Year Awards, are the highlight in every buccaneers calendar! After missing out over the past 20 years, it is the aim of the Pirate Captain to finally claim the coveted award. Cannon Ball Keith can be seen in the audience of this ‘prestigious’ event along with a bevy of other piratey-punters, looking rather worse for wear at some stages after possibly one too many tankards of grog! Presented here on a bespoke display stand, Cannon Ball Keith’s clothing is made entirely from foam latex. . Both the skin on his arms and feet is silicone and he even features a tattoo of the infamous skull and cross bones on his right bicep! His bicorn hat and eye patch have both been made from resin and there is a small amount of plasticine around the top of his head allowing for maximum expression. He features a detachable mouthpiece made from ‘Rapid Prototyped’ resin that would have been alternated throughout filming. Cannonball Keith’s entire body has been built around an intricate steel skeleton allowing for him to be posed and animated. This puppet is a fantastic example of the tremendous detail that has gone into creating each character within this great stop-motion picture. He remains in excellent production used condition and including his stand, measures approximately 33.5cm (13”) tall with the stand measuring approximately 13.5x12.5cm (5.25x4.75”) around the base.

With a rag-tag crew at his side and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It's a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they do battle with the pirate-hating Queen Victoria and team up with a young Charles Darwin, but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!
