Prop Store is proud to present an exclusive offering of ‘The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists’ stop motion puppets, props and set pieces from Aardman and Sony Pictures Animation.

The Cab Driver is seen in his horse-drawn carriage as he drives the Girl Guide uniform-clad Pirate Captain and his fellow buccaneers as they first arrive at the home of Charles Darwin. The Cab Drivers clothing is made from foam latex, as are his black shoes which feature a metal plate on each sole to allow for him to be placed atop his carriage securely. His hands and beard are silicone and his battered top hat and face are resin, although the skin around the eyes is made from plasticine in order for puppeteers to vary his expression. His entire body has been constructed around an intricate internal metal armature which enables him to be manoeuvred easily, in addition, the tails of his jacket feature internal wiring allowing for maximum movability. This fantastic-looking puppet has a very small amount of cracking around his shoulders and knees but is otherwise in excellent condition. The Cab Driver is presented on a bespoke display stand and measures approximately at 35.5cm (13.75”) tall, with the stand measuring approximately 13.5x12.5cm (5.25x4.75”) around the base.

With a rag-tag crew at his side and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It's a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they do battle with the pirate-hating Queen Victoria and team up with a young Charles Darwin, but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!
