An oversized mechanical puppet piranha from Alexandre Aja's comedy-horror Piranha 3D. A prehistoric school of piranhas terrorised the revelers of a Springbreak in Arizona after an underwater tremor set them free.

The piranha is made of silicone, expertly painted to replicate scaly skin, with acrylic eyes and an open mouth filled with pointed silicone teeth. A bite mechanism, operated via a lever, allows the jaw to be clamped shut. The puppet is mounted to a metal rod, which was used by a puppeteer to control its movements. This rod is secured to a wooden display base. The fish was also scanned during production to generate CGI piranhas for the film.

The piranha exhibits a missing chunk out of its tail. Dimensions: 113 cm x 42.5 cm x 90 cm (44.5" x 16.75" x 35.5")
