A foam latex Piranha made for and used in the production of Scott P. Levy's 1995 horror film Piranha.

While searching for a missing woman, PI Maggie McNamara (Alexandra Paul), accidentally releases a wave of genetically-modified piranhas into the wild and must work quickly to stop them from devouring a whole resort of people.

The piranha is one of several made for the production and features an arm sleeve for an operator to control the creature's movements. Puppets like this appeared in several sequences including the murderous fishes' attack on the jetty.

The piece is made from foam latex with plastic eyes and teeth. It exhibits some wear from age and production use - the sleeve has hardened with glue and paint residue, while the exterior paint shows some cracks and flaking, exposing the foam underneath. A small hole can be seen in the tail, from which a wire protrudes.

Despite this production-based wear, the piranha is in good overall condition.
