An original production cel from Walt Disney's 1953 animated feature Peter Pan, based on J.M. Barrie's beloved character, The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up.
The cel features a large, memorable pose of the villainous Captain Hook in a moment of comedic menace. Draped in the iconic skull-and-crossbones flag, used seconds earlier by Peter Pan to restrain him, the Captain creeps across the deck of the Jolly Roger, hook raised and intentions clear, just before tumbling into the jaws of the ever-persistent (and hungry!) Crocodile.
This expressive cel captures the deliciously theatrical physicality that made Hook such a standout antagonist. With his exaggerated sneer, clawed stance, and the dramatic sweep of the flag, the cel reflects Disney's impeccable character animation and the film's rich palette and staging.
A brilliant example of vintage Disney cel artistry, original examples from this climactic sequence are rarely offered, yet much sought after for their humour, action, and dramatic staging.
