Thomas Shelby's (Cillian Murphy) bloodied suit from Steven Knight's Peaky Blinders. Shelby, the leader of the Peaky Blinders, had his signature three-piece tweed and twill suits bloodied by various rivals throughout the series.
Among the most popular series ever produced by the BBC, Peaky Blinders received a number of prestigious awards across its run, including a BAFTA® for Best Drama Series in 2018. The titular gang's distinctive period styles were also influential over global culture, with Shelby's particular affinity for suits widely imitated in so-called gangster chic couture in successive years.
This three-piece wool Williams and Gill suit was donated by the series' production team to The Christie Charity, a registered UK charity supporting the development of cancer prevention, treatment, research, and education. It consists of a matching jacket, vest, and pants, all with tags on their interiors hand-marked "Tommy." The vest comes with an additional tag hand-marked for "2014 Thurs" and a production tag hand-marked "17 Tommy Ripped Jacket D12" is also included. Production intentionally distressed this suit to appear bloodied. This lot exhibits a hole torn in the left sleeve of the jacket.
