A stop motion head used in the 2012 Chris Butler stop motion film, ParaNorman! This head belongs to Mr. Prenderghast (voiced by John Goodman), the crazy hobo uncle of Norman Babcock (voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee), a boy who has the bizarre ability to speak to the dead. This face can be seen at the start of the film as Mr. Prenderghast tells Norman about the curse hanging over his town, and his family.
Presented on a stand, this original puppet head has been 3-D printed in resin with a silicone beard and neck, and finished by hand. The colouring of the face is applied during the printing process, enabling consistency between each of the thousands of replacement animation faces that were created for the production. The faces are attached with magnets to allow animators to quickly replace them to capture the desired expression. The interior of the faces also feature reference numbers that were used to keep track of the different faces during production.

Lightly used in filming and carefully looked after, the piece remains in an excellent production-used condition.
