A computer monitor from Christian Alvart’s 2009 sci-fi horror film Pandorum.

Computer monitors and panels can be seen in the background throughout the Elysium spacecraft. Although not obviously seen on screen, this monitor would have been used as part of the set decoration on the ship. This square backless monitor is made from grey-painted aluminium with a Hanstar monitor screen. The front displays fake gel buttons and a number of decals, one reading ‘OEO’. The top and sides feature venting, and the open back reveals red acrylic sheets glued to the underside of the bottom side vents and wood panels securing the monitor screen in place. Wiring and a circuit board are present inside, indicating the screen was once functional during production.

The monitor exhibits wear from production use and age, including scuffs and scratches, glue remnants, warping of the metal at the back and unsticking of tape in the interior.
