A hero United States Marine Corp flamethrower from the Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks-produced TV mini-series The Pacific.
The series tells the story of the US military in the Pacific during World War II, as seen through the eyes of several young Marines.
This flamethrower was used by the American Marines when full-on flamethrower effects were required during the filming of the series. The piece is made from heavy duty steel that has been painted a khaki green, and features two triggers, one to supply the gas and the other to light it. The weapon is supplied with a detachable high pressure hose with back valve that was used to attach it to the off-screen gas supply, two spanners and a specially made carry case.
This is a particularly rare piece from the series and remains fully functioning. It was the only example that was used to shoot flames in the series, with the rest simply using a pilot flame effect fuelled using a small gas supply in a back-pack. Due to the piece's weight, it is recommended that buyers arrange a shipping quote before ordering. It shows some wear from production use but remains in otherwise excellent condition.
