A Gipsy Danger Ground Crew Costume from Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 mega monster movie Pacific Rim. In the film, a race of monsters, called ‘Kaiju,’ terrorize earth, so humans build a team of massive robots, called ‘Jaegers,’ to battle the monsters and save the world. The Anchorage Shatterdome is the home base of Gipsy Danger, the Jaeger tasked with protecting the coastline of Alaska. The ground crew can be seen near the beginning of the film when Gipsy Danger fights the Kaiju Knifehead. The costume consists of cream-colored coveralls (size 48) with the Gipsy Danger logo on the back. The coveralls also have patches that include the PPDC logo, “Pan Pacific Defense Corps,” “Pacific 1st Defense,” a “Jaeger Core 1” patch, and several others. The coveralls zip up the front and have pockets on the chest and legs. The costume also includes a cap with the PPDC patch sewn on to the front; a black, long-sleeved t-shirt (size large); a pair of work gloves (size large); plastic work goggles; a head set; black gloves; and black work boots (size 8 1/2). The costume was distressed with dirt and oil for the production. This costume shows minor wear due to production use and storage, but is in overall good condition.
