A Kaiju skin mite from Guillermo Del Toro's Pacific Rim. Otherworldly Kaiju terrorized Earth and prompted humanity to build giant robots to fight them. As Newton Geiszler (Charlie Day) and Hannibal Chau (Ron Perlman) visited the carcass of a fallen Kaiju, scavengers collected alien mites from the Kaiju's skin. Production used practical mechanical effects in the mites to simulate life.

This skin mite is made of a vacuum formed plastic segmented shell with a foam-based body covered in a clear laminate hardener. The abdomen is made of foam latex. Beneath the shell, the mite is hand-marked "Brian" and "6." The electronics are accessed by a switch under the back segment of the shell.The functionality of the mite remains untested. This lot exhibits flaked laminate, exposed foam, and mild rips in the foam. Dimensions: 19" x 12" x 8" (48 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm).
