A vintage silver gelatin photographic print showing Noel Gallagher taken by photographer Jill Furmanovsky in November 1995. The picture shows Gallagher sitting in his hotel room in Paris. This print is from Jill Furmanovsky's private collection.
In 1997, Furmanovsky released a book titled "Was There Then", containing the images she had taken of Oasis. She also held an exhibition with the same title displayed at The Roundhouse from September to October that year. This lot is an original silver gelatin print produced for the exhibition and is dry mounted to card. The back of the card has a typed paragraph explaining the subject matter and a handwritten annotation by Furmanovsky. The image is printed on silver gelatin fibre paper, labelled "Oasis, Noel Gallagher, Paris, November 1995", and signed by Furmanovsky in black ink. The print exhibits minor surface tears and creasing in the top right corner. Dimensions: 58 cm x 51 cm (22.75" x 20")

The typed text on the back of the card reads:
"Taken in his hotel room the morning before an Oasis photoshoot, this picture preceded a day of conflict for the Gallagher brothers who were at loggerhead with each other. Although difficult for all concerned, the days shooting produced an extraordinary series of portraits. Another image from this series of the whole band, is showing at the NPG 'Icons' exhibition".
