A Sterling dentist chair used by Liam Gallagher in the "Wonderwall" music video. Released on the acclaimed 1995 album (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, "Wonderwall" remains one of the band's most successful and recognisable songs.
This chair was rented specifically for the shoot from the prop hire company Trading Post. Gallagher sits in this chair in several setups throughout the video, including close-ups with lights reflecting in his round glasses and in front of a swirling background. Another shot shows Gallagher getting up, leaving the chair empty, and Oasis performing in the background. A couple of images taken on the video set show Gallagher in the chair, and the brand name "Sterling" can clearly be seen in one of them.
The Sterling 8S dentist chair is made of metal, displaying a grey-blue finish with chrome detailing, black padded leather cushions, an adjustable headrest, and a footrest. The chair has various pedals and levers, allowing different parts to be adjusted. The functionality of the pedals remains untested. A plaque underneath the cushion displays the serial number as "6715", and a strip of tape is adhered to the back of the chair with "T.P." handwritten in black marker. A screw is missing from one side of the headrest, so care should be taken when handling it. The chair exhibits general age wear, including signs of corrosion on the metal components, wear to the paint finish and cracking on the leather. The lot is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Trading Post. Dimensions: 139 cm x 59 cm x 116 cm (54.75" x 23.25" x 45.75")
