A praying mantis three-part head mold made for Chris Columbus’ comedy drama Nine Months. In the film Samuel Faulkner (Hugh Grant) struggles with commitment and his own fears of fatherhood when his girlfriend Rebecca (Julianne Moore) announces she is pregnant. This mold was made to create produce the skin for the praying mantis mask. In the scene, Samuel visualizes Rebecca as a praying mantis about to feast on him. Made of stone, this lot consists of a three-part mold with the core used to fill the negative space when crafting the skin mask. The front and back of the mold show numerous hand-written notes, with "9 Months" written in red ink on one. The set shows some wear to the plaster due to production use and age, however the set remains in fine condition
