Freddy Krueger's (Robert Englund) SFX Hand from Wes Craven's 1984 horror masterpiece, A Nightmare on Elm Street. In the film, the demonic ghost of a child molester seeks revenge on the children of a mob who murdered him. This rare item comes from the nightmare sequence in which Freddy attacks Christina (Amanda Wyss). In the scene, Freddy pops out from behind a thin tree and slices off two of his fingers with his razor claws, in a demonstration of his maniacal power.
Made from urethane, this arm was crafted around a curved metal pole and features numerous cable controls protruding from the pipe, allowing puppeteers to curl Freddy's fingers as he cuts off his ring and pinky fingers. Also protruding from the pipe is a tubes used to project a green colored stage blood from his severed fingers.
Due to age, this item features notable wear to the material, which has become very fragile and sticky. As the character displays charred skin, some of the production made gaps in the hand have since stretched, and are now larger (see photos). This item measures approximately 5" x 2" x 26" (13cm x 5cm x 66cm) and aside from its fragile state, this rare piece has survived through the decades and remains in reasonable condition.
