An original "John Wayne 2" stop-motion creature puppet with drawings from the production of Clive Barker's 1990 dark-fantasy horror film Nightbreed.

The puppet was modelled in foam latex by creature-design artist Howard Swindell.It was part of a sequence that went to full dress test, but was ultimately not included in the final film. The puppet features a machined-aluminium armature, complete with ball joints to allow it to be moved and posed.

The lot comes with a custom-made display stand and seven production storyboard sheets, six of which are original pen-and-ink and depict the scenes in which the character was to appear. It also includes 14 A4 pencil concept drawings of the creature, which reveal its pre-production development. The model exhibits some damage to one hand and one foot, but otherwise remains in very good condition. However, due to its age and fragile nature, the armature should remain static. Dimensions (model): 38 cm x 23 cm x 23 cm (15" x 9" x 9")
