Continental, 1968

This black-and-white poster features a quote from a Pittsburgh newspaper and is believed to be a very early example created for the release of this groundbreaking horror thriller. This one sheet was professionally linen-backed and has received expert sporadic touch-ups in certain areas of the folds to address general wear. The upper border, which had a clean horizontal fold, has been airbrushed to conceal handwritten performance dates by a theater owner. Additionally, there is a small area of spot touch-up along the right border and the right edge of the bottom border to address light edge wear.

George Romero's original zombie movie (though the word zombie is never used), in which a small group of people are trapped in a farmhouse by a sudden epidemic of the walking dead. As well as creating a new genre, this innovative indie film is also notable for making a Black actor (Duane Jones) its hero.
