A Lost City of Gold carved plank from Buckingham Palace's Resolute Desk as seen in Jon Turteltaub's National Treasure: Book of Secrets. Benjamin Gates (Nicolas Cage) and Dr. Abigail Chase (Diane Kruger) broke into Buckingham Palace, where they discovered a carved wooden plank which offered clues to the location of the Lost City of Gold, aka the Cibola, in the Queen's Resolute Desk. The Queen's plank was designed to pair with another plank secured in The President's (Bruce Greenwood) Resolute Desk at the White House. Ultimately, the discovery of both led Gates and Chase to the Cibola inside Mount Rushmore.
This piece is made of resin hand-painted to resemble wood and intentionally distressed to appear hundreds of years old. The lot exhibits some wear from production use, with some scuffing to the paintwork revealing the resin beneath, and a small section of fishing line is attached to one corner from being used in the scene when it's thrown over the bridge, allowing the production to pull it back to them.
