A drum head labeled "National Lampoon: Lemmings" from National Lampoon: Lemmings. Launched Off-Broadway at the renowned The Village Gate venue in 1973, the satirical stage show parodying the Woodstock generation helped launch the careers of several future comedy icons, including John Belushi, Christopher Guest, and Chevy Chase. It is today recognized as a key predecessor to Saturday Night Live, with many of the same performers discovered during the show's 350 performances. Lemmings was later revived from 2007 to 2008.
Multiple drumheads of similar but varying styles were made over the course of the show's original run. This well-used Remo drum head features the Lemmings logo at center, though the first letter "L" is no longer present, as well as a strip of adhesive tape partially obscuring the original branding. The drum head exhibits signs of age and use, including yellowing and surface discoloration. Dimensions: 23" x 23" x 1.5" (58.5 cm x 58.5 cm x 4 cm)
