A Terracotta army soldier head from Rob Cohen’s 2008 Mummy Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.Pieces such as this were used atop the hundreds of clay infantrymen inside the tomb that Alex (Luke Ford) excavates, following closely in his parents footsteps and awaking another mummy. As per the directions for the real Terracotta Army by the First Emperor of Qin, it looks as though every face was unique, requiring a tremendous amount of work. Made from plaster the head would have slotted into the bodies. It has been decorated in incredible detail to look as though it was made from clay and stood in darkness for close to two thousand years using a variety of paint effects and colours.
The head has some wear from production use and age, most notably a crack and small hole in the top of the head. There is also some scuffing and scratches. Overall it remains in an excellent condition.
